To use the limited battery current available for flash, Analog Devices, Inc. has designed ADP1650 white LED driver, which features a programmable I²C-compatible interface, programmable torch and flash currents for one LED up to 1500mA, two independent TxMASK inputs and a 4-bit ADC. It can provide high efficiency at 85% at the typical battery voltage (90% peak). The ultra-compact ADP1650 measures only 2 × 1.5mm in a 12-ball WLCSP package and reduces PCB requirements.

Toshiba announced 3D-compatible Cell Regza LCD TVs and it will start releasing these in August 2010 in Japan along with the "Regza Blu-ray" Blu-ray Disc (BD) recorders. The Cell Regza , which was jointly developed by Toshiba, the Sony Group and IBM Corp, is an LCD TV equipped with the Cell Broadband Engine microprocessor (Cell).

An LED driver NCL30001, which integrates PFC and isolated step-down AC-DC power conversion in a single stage, has been created by ON Semiconductor. It is designed to operate in CCM and can be configured as either a constant current or fixed output voltage driver for LED-based street lighting and architectural lighting applications of between 40W and 150W.

Sony has developed a prototype 360-degree autostereoscopic display called RayModeler, allowing viewers to see full colour volumetric objects from 360-degree. And no special 3D glasses are needed to see the 3D images. Kemerovo in Siberia is converting to street lighting with LEDs by OSRAM Opto Semiconductors on a broad scale. The city of 520,000 inhabitants on the Trans-Siberian Railway has installed 200 street luminaires made by LLC TD Focus, which are equipped with Golden DRAGON oval Plus LEDs. The city can therefore achieve significant savings in energy costs and CO2 emissions.
