DOE approves Spire Receives to develop LED based solar simulator

The Department of Energy (DOE) has chosenSpire Corporation as the recipient of a Small Business Innovation Research grant to develop a LED based solar simulator.

Spire mainly produces solar simulators using pulsed light lamp light sources. It will develop a next generation solar simulator, based on LED technology.

The LED based system could provide advantages of accuracy, reliability, versatility and cost. With system software and control electronics, spectral, intensity and spatial uniformity variations could be achieved easily.
