For a Brighter Diwali, MCD Wants All Street Lights Working

Despite the power crisis that has gripped the Capital, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has planned a bright Diwali for Delhiites. Prior to the festival of lights, the civic body is ensuring that every street should be lit.

The MCD has asked the engineering department to pass directives to all the junior engineers to light up the streets.

The works committee chairman said in a meeting on Wednesday, a resolution will be passed directing the engineering department to start work of repairing streetlights from this weekend. There are approximately 3 lakhs lights under MCD which comprises Hi-Mask LED lights, street lights and fancy lights. Even lighting inside parks is considered part of this.
