Havells-Sylvania Appoints New President in Drive for Growth

Havells-Sylvania has announced the appointment of Rajiv Goel as President of Global Operations for the Havells-Sylvania Group (formerly known as the Sylvania Group, prior to the 2007 acquisition).  In this role, Rajiv Goel will be fully responsible for driving strategic direction and growth.

Making this announcement, Anil Gupta, COO Havells India, Ltd said, “Rajiv’s proven track record in senior management at Havells coupled with his corporate financial expertise puts him in an ideal position to drive growth across our global business.  I am delighted to congratulate him on his new position and look forward to achieving even greater heights.”

Rajiv has been associated directly with the Havells-Sylvania operations, since 2009 and has been involved with the Havells group for the last 12 years in various capacities.  He brings to the role a wealth of company and financial market experience coupled with an international view regarding strategic development.

Rajiv Goel comments: “We are a fiercely ambitious company, currently operating in over 50 countries across the world; and growing consistently despite challenging economic times. This new role provides the opportunity to drive forward the business in terms of taking our award-winning lighting and electrical products to new audiences globally, building on our reputation for quality and expertise across the Havells, Concord, Lumiance and Sylvania brands.”

Havells is currently one of India’s fastest growing electrical and lighting manufacturers.  The company expanded from being a one-shop enterprise in 1958 with 10,000 rupees to a multi-national business with over 94 branches and 8000 professionals in 15 countries.  With a strong base in India, the organisation is on course to realise the vision of being a world-class manufacturer, offering innovative, best-in-class electrical and lighting solutions.  Indeed, Havells, including the Havells-Sylvania operations, is now a $1.2bn business globally with impressive growth plans.
