IDS Unveils New OLED Display Panel at H/WExpo

Embedded systems display specialist Intelligent Display Solutions (IDS) launched a new series of OLED display panels at this year's H/WExpo, the hardware developers’ conference.

Although OLED is now an established technology, the latest solution includes bright blue and bright green colours as well as larger size displays and custom icons.

"OLEDs remain an attractive technology," said Adrian Amor, Director at IDS. "OLED displays emit light, so do not require a backlight. In this respect they are thinner and more efficient than LCD displays. Our demonstration of the latest OLED solutions attracted a lot of attention - we had a very busy and productive conference."

IDS also gave a presentation on Capacitive Touch display technology. The presentation explored what options are out there and how they work.

“All capacitive touch screens (CapTouch) work well in demos and on the bench,” said Adrian Amor. “It is when they are installed in real world applications that the problems can start occurring. This presentation sought to provide delegates with the information and solutions they may require to ease this implementation.”

IDS were established in 2001 by a team of display industry experts. Over time they have built up a wealth of knowledge about both the technical approach and the user interface approach to designing displays using LCD, TFT and OLED technologies for many applications. IDS have helped develop new and innovative displays, helping customers to enhance their products, with some even receiving awards for design and application.
