[News] Edison Innovations Licenses Portfolio Of PFS/KSF Phosphor Technology Patents To Shenzhen Jiakun Optoelectronics Co., Ltd.

Edison Innovations, a Dominion Harbor Enterprises (DHE) company, has licensed its portfolio of Potassium Fluorosilicate (PFS/KSF) phosphor technology patents to Shenzhen Jiakun Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. (“Jiakun”), a major manufacturer of LED components for mobile phones. The agreement was jointly announced by Mr. Preston Morgan, Senior Vice President of Licensing of Dominion Harbor, and Mr. Chen Tianyu, Chairman of the Board of Jiakun.

Under a royalty-bearing arrangement, Jiakun will apply Edison Innovations’ PFS/KSF patents as the global manufacturer explores opportunities to expand beyond the company’s established position in the mobile-phone market and enter additional LED and optoelectronics applications. The license also extends to Jiakun’s affiliates, Jiakun Optoelectronics (Jiangxi) Co., Ltd. and Jiakun Optoelectronics (Hubei) Co., Ltd.

“We are pleased to partner with Jiakun, a respected and experienced LED manufacturer with significant technical and production capabilities,” said Mr. Morgan. “This agreement creates an opportunity to bring Edison’s patented technology to broader markets while supporting Jiakun’s continued growth and diversification.”

“Jiakun has built a strong position serving the demanding mobile-phone LED market,” said Chairman Chen. “Edison’s patent portfolio provides an important foundation as we evaluate new applications and markets for our manufacturing and engineering capabilities. We look forward to developing the potential of this technology across Jiakun and our affiliated companies.”

The patent portfolio represents a significant collection acquired by Dominion Harbor in 2025 from Dolby Laboratories, Inc., following Dolby’s acquisition of GE Licensing. Since the acquisition, Edison has continued to build on the portfolio, filing new patent applications and working with industry partners to develop next-generation KSF applications.

The license includes the following U.S. patents:
7497973, 11098246, 7648649, 10615316, 7358542, 9512357, 7847309, 10131835, 7453195, 9938457, 9455381, 9929319, 9184353, 10249801, 8981639, 10424697, 8829781, 8436369, 8362685, 8592232, 8237348, 8742449, 9680067, 8916898, 9698314, 9018669, 10230022, 9741907
