Nichia Dismissed White LEDs Patent infringement with U.S. Company

Considering LED-application products containing LEDs marketed by WILMAR CORPORATION (a U.S. marketing and distribution company) used White LEDs that infringe at least one of Nichia’s U.S. patents, Nichia demanded that WILMAR discontinue marketing the infringing products.

Nichia has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in September 2010, and in March, 2011, WILMAR acknowledged patent infringement and agreed to stop marketing infringing products and to change to new products using non-infringing White LEDs. The lawsuit is dismissed after WILMAR acknowledged patent infringement.

According to Nichia, WILMAR had previously used White LEDs in its products from the following companies, none of whom have been licensed by NICHIA: MLS Electronics Co., Ltd., Fujian Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd., NINGBO SUNPU OPTO SEMICONDUCTOR CO., LTD., CIXI RUIJIAN ELECTRONIC CO.,LTD., Ninghai Kanghong Electrionics Co.,LTD., Dongguan Winghing Electronic Science & Technology Co., Ltd.
