LED Lighting with Special Spectrum Improves Sleep Quality

SleepScore Labs has released a study to prove that using Good Night® LED Sleep-Enhancing Lights in the evening helps people to fall asleep more easily and feel more rested the next morning.

SleepScore Labs has comprehensive research and development information collected from the past 12 years, including more than six million nights of objective sleep data. SleepScore Labs’ sleep measurement technology, powered by ResMed, has extensively been validated against polysomnography (PSG) – the gold standard in sleep measurement. The Good Night® LED Sleep-Enhancing Lights were tested over 1,750 nights of tracked sleep with multiple users and were found to benefit several key aspects of perceived and objective sleep.

Roy Raymann, Ph.D., Vice President of Sleep Science and Scientific Affairs at SleepScore Labs, said, “Evening exposure to regular LED light, which contains a high amount of the blue spectrum, is capable of disrupting sleep by minimizing the melatonin secretion that naturally occurs in the evening and helps you sleep. The Good Night® LED Sleep-Enhancing Light minimizes the amount of blue light spectrum emitted and therefore helps prevent blue light-induced decreases in melatonin secretion in the evening. This might help people fall asleep easier and maintain a regular sleep schedule, which is key to good sleep.”
