NIO has officially launched its new flagship SUV, the ES9, with its 10,000th vehicle delivery scheduled for this month.
As NIO’s latest flagship model designed to strengthen its premium EV portfolio and expand into the global luxury executive vehicle market, the ES9 features an exceptionally competitive smart cockpit. Every model comes standard with the iconic 48-inch Skyline Display spanning the entire front cabin. Creating a New Benchmark for Technological Elegance
Stretching 1.4 meters across the driver and front passenger areas, the ES9 Skyline Display adopts Refond’s dual 24-inch QD Mini LED COB blue backlight solution, delivering up to 1,200 nits of brightness and a million-level contrast ratio. The display offers vivid full-color, high-definition image quality while enabling seamless information sharing and interaction between the driver and passenger, redefining the in-cabin visual experience.
To meet the design requirements of a large-format, seamlessly integrated, ultra-narrow display, Refond developed an ultra-thin Mini LED light board based on a PM driving architecture. Featuring a COB blue LED + dispensing process, the solution significantly reduces module thickness, enabling the realization of a large-size ultra-slim display.
To further enhance color performance, the Skyline Display combines Refond’s Mini LED backlight technology with a Quantum Dot (QD) film, achieving outstanding optical light mixing and excellent luminance uniformity. The result is 5K ultra-high-definition resolution with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, delivering vibrant colors and exceptional image quality.
Powered by Refond’s Mini LED COB core technology, the display also incorporates Mini LED local dimming technology, enabling more dimming zones within a compact space for finer light control. This significantly improves contrast, enhances shadow and highlight detail, and creates an immersive panoramic lighting experience that integrates naturally with the vehicle’s interior design, bringing a new level of sophistication to the executive flagship cabin.
