LED Engin Adds New RGBW Emitters to LED Lighting Portfolio

LED Engin, Inc. announces a new world record in both flux and power density for high power, multi-color LED lighting with its latest LZP family of red, green, blue and cool white (RGBW) emitters. The 25-die, 80-watt emitters deliver 3800 lumens, the world’s highest luminous flux density from a 6.2mm x 6.2mm light emitting area on 12mm x 12mm emitter footprint. As a result, the LZP now gives designers of entertainment and architectural lighting the freedom to create more powerful yet slimmer, very compact lamps in innovative new styles that appeal to customers. The emitter is the first of three new multi-color products in LED Engin’s development schedule announced in April. Lower Carbon Footprints, Better Light – Philips’ SpeedStar Takes Care of the Night in UK

There are several reasons to explain why LED rises so quickly in recent years. One of them, maybe the most important one, is that LEDs are more energy efficient. LEDs are brighter and cooler than traditional lamps; this also indicates that they consume less energy to emit the same lumen. As the producing process getting improved, the costs to produce LEDs are lower, and this fact encourage people to consider using LEDs instead. In addition, LEDs are more flexible for different situations. Designers can achieve almost everything they want. Other than advantages of energy and flexibility, brightness is another beneficial feature of LED fixtures. Now, European countries are striving to cut as many costs as possible, and the United Kingdom is not an exception. When Wigan Council was planning to start their Street Scene and Lighting project, it was necessary to find a balance between brightness and money. The manager, Keith Benson, sought help from Philips and there was a perfect solution: Philips’ product called “SpeedStar LED luminaire.”
