Honglitronic to Expand LED Packaging Business through Fund Raising

Chinese LED manufacturer Honglitronic recently announced the company will release 300 million non-public offering shares to raise RMB 725 million (US $116 million). The purposes of this round of financing is mainly for the construction of SMD LED manufacturing facilities, acquiring 49% of Liangyou Hardware’s shares, and increasing bonds payable and circulating capital.

LED chip makers’ total revenue amounted to NT$2.453 billion, up by 13.9% MoM; and LED packagers posted NT$3.198 billion in revenue, a 6.4% growth MoM.

Cree Q209 Revenue Increased 24% year-over-year to $148 Million

Cree, Inc. announced revenue of $147.6 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2009, ended Dec. 28, 2008. This represents a 24% increase compared to revenue of $119.0 million reported for the second quarter of fiscal 2008 and a 5% increase compared to the first quarter of fiscal 2009.
