Seven Cities of Bengal to Install LED Streetlights

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) at a meeting on May 2 approved the solar lightening project besides five more development initiatives, involving a total of Taka 875 crore. Under the ‘Solar Street Lighting Program in City Corporation’ project, the Power Division will introduce solar energy-driven LED technology covering one thousand kilometers of streets of Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet and Rangpur city corporations.
