New Approach to Manufacture Flexible Micro LED Display Unveiled by Researchers

Researchers at the University of Waterloo in Canada reported that they have created a new method to transfer and bond Micro LEDs onto flexible substrate. The approach is called “paste-and-cut” by the researchers and can selectively transfer GaN Micro LED from sapphire substrate onto flexible platforms. The results were published at Nano Energy in July, 2020. University of Waterloo Purchases Veeco MBE System for New Nano Research Center

Veeco Instruments Inc. (Nasdaq: VECO) announced that the University of Waterloo, located at the heart of Canada’s technology hub, has purchased a GEN10® Molecular Beam Epitaxy system for its recently opened Quantum-Nano Centre (QNC) hosting the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) and the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC).
