AMOLED Screened Meizu Pro 6 to Use 10 Flash LEDs?

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu will be launching its latest model Meizu Pro 6 on April 13, 2016, with recent market rumors from China pointing the new phone might be equipped with LED ring flash, reported Android Headlines.

The leaked report from China pointed the smartphone maker will be featuring ‘Ring Flash’ using 10 LEDs within the ring, which steps apart from mainstream dual LED flash found in smartphones. However, the report also found it difficult to confirm the features, since the blurry low resolution photo revealing a circular feature under the camera indent provided few details.

LED ring flash has been mostly used by photographers for macro photography, by employing such a feature in a smartphone Meizu would be able to differentiate itself from competitors by adding macro photography capacity to its phone, said a LEDinside analyst.

Squeezing in 10 LEDs into the phone could result in higher manufacturing costs, but would have limited impact on the phone’s final retail price, he added.

Other specs revealed about the upcoming Meizu Pro 6 is it will come with a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440x 2560 pixels, or approximately 515 ppi pixel density, reported GSMARENA.
