Edison Debuts on the Taiwan Stock Exchange

Edison Opto Corp. debuts its first public offering on the main board of the Taiwan Stock Exchange at the price of NT$108 On Nov. 12.

Edison has made a great leap on sales growth over the past several years, with sales jumping 70% year on year to reach NT$1.702 billion in 2009.Then, its first three quarters of 2010 sales grew 90% year-on-year and it expected the annual total to reach NT$2.35 billion. And the company believed its annual sales will break the NT$10 billion mark in the years to come based on the increased demand for LED lighting.

Currently, Edison sees 73.3% of sales from the LED lighting. Edison president C.J. Wu said his company adopts a unique LDMS (lighting design manufacturing service) business model with major competitors such as Cree, Osram and Lumileds.

In addition, Edison was recently chosen by Forbes Magazine as one of Asia`s best 200 enterprises.
