Nichia Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit against Takizumi

On Dec. 19, 2016, Nichia Corporation (“Nichia”) filed a patent infringement lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court against TAKIZUMI ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES CO., LTD. (“Takizumi”), a manufacturer and distributor of lighting fixtures, seeking an injunction and compensation for damages.

In this lawsuit, Nichia seeks an injunction and compensation for damages against Takizumi concerning its ceiling light (product name: TEX85029) equipped with white LED, which Nichia believes infringes its patent JP5610056.

Nichia seeks to protect its patents and other intellectual property rights, and takes actions against alleged infringers in any country where appropriate and necessary.
