Lextar Announces Revenue Lift for 2Q18

Lextar reported its financial report for the second quarter of 2018 with a consolidated revenue of NT$ 2.98 billion (US$ 97.24 million), up by 12.6% QoQ. The net profit came to NT$ 50 million (US$ 1.63 million). For the first half of the year, the revenue was NT$ 5.63 billion (US$ 183.71 million) with a decrease of 8.8 YoY, while the net profit dropped by 75.5% to NT$ 12 million (US$ 391,572).

With an improved portfolio and the effect of the peak season, Lextar has raised its profit for Q2. Meanwhile, the company has been pushing the capacities of its new factory in China, which is expected to hit full capacity by the end of 2018.

As for its Mini LED development, Lextar has increased the production volume of Mini LED backlights which will be applied in high-end laptops, gaming monitors, automotive panels, commercial displays and medical displays. The company has also delivered its fine-pitch LED displays samples to its clients which will be adopted in commercial public displays.

For automotive applications, Lextar has processed the shipment of automotive optical modules to be used on train lights for the European market and has received verification for its automotive lighting products. The markets for IR LED, VCSEL, UV LED curing and UVC applications are also covered by Lextar’s enhancing portfolio.
