1C12 to Launch Adaptor Range for LED Light Cube

In late August, LEDinside introduced a portable LED light cube for filmmakers and photographers from Australian online solutions company 1C12. The company’s flexible fund raising project with a target of US$ 60,000 launched on Indiegogo just a month ago has seen funds flow in at an exponential rate to US$ 119,302. Having nearly doubled its estimated funding requirements, the Australian company has announced the addition of an adaptor range in a recent update on Indiegogo.

The adaptors range to be launched allows the cube to be attached using a Bowens adaptor ring with the Cube attached using a slide rail with a light stand mount. Technological developments will also allow the ring to be connected to light modifiers by existing brands including Elinchrom, Bowens, Broncolor, Profoto, Paul Buff and others.

The LED light cube currently has a CRI of 84 and color temperature of 5350k. A performance that is still slightly under the company’s goal of offering a more natural light color at 5660K color temperature, and LED module with a CRI over 90. Photographers will also need to be patient as the lights is incompatible with Canon or Nikon cameras hardwire.

Despite some of its shortcomings, the LED light tube still has some very attractive features, including 10 dimmable modes, flicker-free at high shutter speed, and a long lifetime of 50,000 hours. The LED Light Cube can also fire off over 1,000 flashes at the highest power setting from a single battery charge. The lights are scheduled for shipment in November 2013 and costs US$ 695 for a single cube. For international buyers a shipment rate of US$ 40 is charged for a single cube, and US$ 20 for domestic Australian buyers.
