Earlier this week, tech outlets revealed rendered images of Samsung’s smart glasses, the Galaxy Glasses. Featuring an ultra-slim design suitable for everyday use, the new product lineup aims to deliver a sleek and stylish build on par with conventional sunglasses, a design approach also followed by the Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses and the Google Gemini glasses.
Leaks from industry insiders pointed out, Samsung has been developing two smart glasses models, codenamed Jinju and Haean, in parallel.
Samsung plans to kick off its AI glasses releases in 2026, with an entry-level model that comes without a Micro LED display. At only 50g, the first Galaxy Glasses can significantly improve wearing comfort. The specifications of the device reportedly include a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 processor, a 155mAh battery, and a Sony 12-megapixel camera. Moreover, the lenses will likely feature photochromic tinting technology that allows them to adapt to ambient lighting conditions.
The first Galaxy Glasses will operate on the Android XR platform and feature built-in Gemini AI. Customers will have access to voice-activated features, such as translation, weather updates, Google Maps navigation, or photo and video recording, thereby reducing screen time.
To enhance aesthetic appeal, Samsung has also collaborated with well-established brands such as Warby Parker and Gentle Monster to diversify frame options.
Samsung’s premium version of the Galaxy Glasses, codenamed Haean, will be equipped with a Micro LED display to deliver richer and enhanced visuals. Targeting the high-performance AR market, this advanced model is set to launch as early as 2027.
Pricing for the upcoming 2026 Galaxy glasses is estimated at USD 379–499 (approximately RMB 2,586–3,404), while the high-end Micro LED version arriving in 2027 will likely cost USD 600–900 (approximately RMB 4,093–6,140).
By debuting a lightweight AI-assisted model and introducing a Micro LED flagship, Samsung has mobilized efforts to establish a comprehensive smart wearables portfolio in the rapidly growing XR market.
