OSRAM Opto Semiconductors and MODA LIGHT transform campus restaurant with energy-efficient lighting technology Legends, a campus restaurant and ale house located at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana, recently completed the installation of 70 MODA LIGHT ICAN 15 down lights throughout its dining facilities. The installation of these fixtures, illuminated with OSRAM Opto Semiconductors LEDs, will help Legends achieve approximately 82% in energy savings from the previously installed fixtures.

Luminus' Spot Lights Available for Skyscrapers and Towers

Luminus Devices has powered the new Strong Entertainment Lighting Solutions 650 and 900 spot lights, which features a total light output of 20,000 lumens and have a lifespan of 50,000 hours, to light the largest skyscrapers and towers in the world, antennas, amphitheaters and artwork displays.   The Solutions 650 utilizes a proprietary optics system giving the user a narrow 3 degree beam of light, with a reach of more than 1,500 feet.

Kinmen Operates LED Street Lamps for Energy-saving and Carbon Reduction Program

Taiwan's outlying island of Kinmen has installed a new system of LED lamps for street lighting as part of the county's low carbon energy-saving efforts. As the county government was awarded a grant by the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Bureau of Energy to finance the plan, Sixty-nine automated LED lamps were installed on a section of the island's Huandao East Road, replacing the previous sodium and mercury street lamps.

Researchers Developed Flexible LED Sheets For Glowing Tattoos

Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs Launched an Intelligent-Control System to Promote Green Power

According to the report of CNA, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) invested NT$18 million (US$586,800) to install more than 500 intelligent LED street lamps in three major parking lots in Sanchong City, Taiwan County, with the aim of cutting electricity consumption by at least 70% to promote green power. According to MOEA officials, the intelligent system will adjust the intensity of the lights by detecting the level of usage, such as the presence of pedestrians or vehicles, and thus reduce electricity consumption.
