VPEC plans to ramp its capacity by 40-60% in 2010

Visual Photonics Epitaxy Co Ltd (VPEC), Taiwanese pure-play epiwafer foundry, is planning to ramp its capacity by 40-60% in 2010.

In the first of half of 2010, VPEC will increase its number of installed MOCVD tools from 22 to more than 30. VPEC forecasts year-on-year growth of 62% for power amplifier shipments in 2010, which are being boosted by intelligent grid network applications and e-book readers. Also, in Q1/2010, the firm expects its solar wafer business revenue share to reach 5-10% of total revenue. VPEC’s monthly revenue in 2010 is set to increase from NT$100m to NT$300m, concludes the report.
