【Exclusive Interview】StrongLED Smart Lighting Created High-End Commercial Lighting Brand, Defining the New Trend of Smart Lighting and Healthy Lighting

In January, 2021, StrongLED announced the establishment of General Lighting Business Sector and the appointment of Mr. Lawrence Lin as the CEO. With full preparation and arrangement from October, 2020 to January, 2021, Lawrence successfully set up an independent operating subsidiary, StrongLED Smart Lighting. Together with his team, he has kicked off channel building in Chinese market and brand building with a focus on indoor commercial lighting field, in a bid to construct comprehensive marketing channels and establish premium brand imaging in main target markets, including Chinese and North American markets, by which the company will define the new trend of smart lighting and healthy lighting. LEDinside, a research institute of TrendForce, had the honor to interview Lawrence Lin, the CEO of StrongLED Smart Lighting, who kindly shared the latest development of the company’s smart lighting and healthy lighting products.

StrongLED Smart Lighting specializes in commercial smart lighting market and takes well-being building and lighting as the trend. On this basis, the company proposes three main lighting product characteristics and concepts, fully demonstrating its amazing product portfolio, devices, content and IoT platforms. First, Devices includes lamp, luminaires, sensor and driver. Second, Content features the design with high added value, able to improve psychological and physiological states. Third, IoT platforms base on cloud computing and operating technologies.

“Built on the three characteristics and concepts, the commercial lighting products of StrongLED Smart Lighting boast five design cores, including INTRINSIC (Elegant brand design language), N@TUR (High color rending index, CRI>90%), eSpektrum (Unlimited program download function), LichtConnect (Cloud-base computing and positioning technologies), in.Licht (Full ecological sensor covering Lux/CCT/Camera),”Lawrence said.

As human stays in the artificial light environment for a long time, they are more or less devoid of the physiological and psychological demands that full-spectrum sunlight can provide. In this context, StrongLED Smart Lighting joint hands with hospitals and research institutes to develop human centric lighting (HCL) products. Fitted with natural full-spectrum lighting and environment sensing technology, HCL products can better stimulate human’s brain emotional response or facilitate the adjustment and optimization of corresponding hormone secretion, which represents a design with high added value able to improve psychological and physiological states.

According to Lawrence, eSpektrum- achieves immersive scenario interactivity through AI technology and provides infinite program download function, by which users can experience different scenarios created by lighting. Of all communication protocol platforms, ZigBee and Bluetooth Mesh are the most popular among commercial lighting market. Thereby, StrongLED Smart Lighting equipped its commercial lighting products with these two functions. In addition, the company’s products have been seamlessly connected to DIALux, the world leading lighting design software, and provide their lighting designers with simulated lighting effect.

Finally, Lawrence shared the company’s goal of constructing 8-10 brand demonstrations in China within this year to exploit Chinese market before extending toward the North American market, with the hope of entering the North American market in the second quarter of 2022.
