Record High Revenue for July Generated by Upstream LED Chip Manufacturers; Panel Inventory Adjustment to Influence the Performance of Package Manufacturers

Based on the industry researcher LEDinside’s analysis and statistics, in July this year, listed LED manufacturers in Taiwan have total revenue of 10.853 billion NTD, a 2.7% growth compared with June revenue of 10.56 billion NTD and 80% rise YoY. The revenue for LED chip manufacturers in July reached 4.97 billion NTD, up 7.6% from June. The revenue for LED package manufacturers in July amounted to 5.88 billion NTD, down 1.1% from June.

Cree reported annual revenue and annual net income for fiscal year 2010

Cree announced its annual revenue and annual net income. Its record revenue has achieved to $264.6 million for its fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, ended June 27, 2010. Compared to revenue of $148.1 million reported for the fourth fiscal quarter last year, it increase by 79% and compared to the third quarter of fiscal 2010, it increase by 13%. GAAP net income for the fourth quarter increased 445% year-over-year to $52.8 million, or $0.48 per diluted share.

Aixtron receives MOCVD order from INCOTEX Group

AIXTRON AG announced an order for three mass production MOCVD systems for GaN HB-LED production from the INCOTEX Group, a new AIXTRON customer in Bulgaria. Recently, panel manufacturers have been concerned about the excess inventory, triggering uncertainty toward demand for LED TV backlight. LEDinside’s survey showed that Korean panel vendors have started to save LED inventory since the end of 2009. Therefore, when facing the slack season, they hit the brake for LED procurement in advance. Enfis will supply LED arrays to NBA Stadium in Guangzhou

London minnow Enfis has announced that it was contracted to supply LED arrays and drivers for the NBA Stadium under construction in Guangzhou, China , for this November's Asian Games, which it said would help it showcase its product in the whole of Asia. The contract is the group's largest individual order for architectural lighting. Enfis will provide a total 900 LED light engines for the stadium for an undisclosed amount.
