Multifunction Connector Applies to LED Apps

Hirose Electric USA has released a multifunctional connector system, which provides wire-to-board, board-to-board joint and short-circuit sockets.

The DF59 Series connector requires a small connector, small DC motor drives and power supplies. The connector's low-mated height at 2.5mm and its overall size of 8 x 9mm is used in narrowly-mounted LEDs.

According to Rick van Weezel, Hirose's vice president of sales and marketing, the DF59 offers system designers ultimate flexibility and carries the company’s unique “swing lock” design. Moreover, the connector provide stress-free contact for 0.5mm floating function in XYZ directions for greater flexibility during the installation process. DF59 has a 2mm pitch and is available in 2, 3 and 4 positions. It has a high current capacity of 3A (with AWG 22 cable) and high contact lance strength for wire-to-board type connections.
