OLCA Established to Facilitate Taiwan’s OLED Industry

Targeting the US $5.6 billion indoor lighting market, Taiwan has recently set up an Organic Light-emitting Diode Lighting Commercialization Alliance (OLCA), according to a China Post report.

The Industrial Technology Research Institute (IRTI) that initiated the establishment of OCLA projected OLED lighting market is to reach US $5.6 billion by 2020, and have a 23.4 percent share in solid-state lighting market.

Top OLED companies including RiTdisplay, WiseChip Semiconductor, Merck, Corning Incorporated, and Tongtai Machine & Tool are all OLCA members, said IRTI.

Aiming to make OLED indoor lighting products, OLCA Chairman CT Liu said, OLCA has organized five committees including lamps, lighting design, materials, fixtures and optical engines. More than 60 companies have shown interest in collaborating with other OLCA members.
