Now that TGL presented by SoFi has wrapped its groundbreaking inaugural season, Samsung Electronics America proudly celebrates its role as an Official Screen Partner, helping to redefine how fans experience the sport of golf. Throughout the season, TGL captivated audiences with team-based competition, innovative gameplay and dynamic content — all powered by Samsung Displays.
The season culminated in a thrilling championship match, where the Atlanta Drive Golf Club claimed the first-ever SoFi Cup. Throughout the season, Samsung’s immersive display technology amplified every moment of the action, transforming the 250,000-square-foot SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., into a high-energy arena unlike anything previously seen in golf.
“TGL’s goal was to harness technology to build a modern approach to sports, media and entertainment through the game of golf,” said David Phelps, Head of Display Division, Samsung Electronics America. “They turned to us as the leader in delivering the highest quality visual experiences for fans, both in the venue or watching at home.”

A game-changing partnership for a new era of golf
Created by TMRW Sports, which was founded by Mike McCarley, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, TGL presented by SoFi is centered around a game-changing concept: indoor, team-based golf played in a technology-infused arena and designed for primetime viewing. The league aimed to introduce an immersive spectacle that would captivate fans, inspire new followers and amplify the excitement of every shot. To achieve this, digital signage would be pivotal.
“Technology was part of the plan from the very beginning, as one of the goals of the league was to have all teams play in the same venue,” said Andrew Macaulay, Chief Technology Officer, TMRW Sports and TGL. “The field of play had to quickly change from one match to the next with new team colors and branding. We looked at experts in their field who had superb products and Samsung was the winner. Form, fit and function all met what we were looking for.”
Working in close collaboration, Samsung and TGL integrated cutting-edge displays throughout the design of SoFi Center:
-
A 600-square-foot XRB Series Outdoor Display serves as an outdoor marquee, welcoming fans with bold visuals. The high 5,000-nit panel brightly greets guests and promotes the current and upcoming TGL events.
-
The LED wing displays were the focal point during matches featuring two 1,250-square-foot LED videoboards located on either side of TGL’s giant projection screen. The state-of-the-art VMR Series Indoor Displays provide high-resolution visuals with a 2.9mm pixel pitch to clearly present match scores, shot statistics and hole overviews for both teams and fans.
-
Nearly 900 linear feet of LED ribbon boards encircle the field of play and line the front of the upper and lower seating stands. The 2,000-nit ISC Series indoor display technology provides TGL with dazzling display real estate that enhances the live experience even for fans watching at home.
-
Additional displays by each TGL team bench deliver exciting visuals with team branding that can be easily updated at the press of a button.

At SoFi Center, Samsung Displays served as more than backdrops. They helped elevate the intensity and drama of the match. Shot clocks displayed across multiple screens kept the pace fast, while a heartbeat audio effect built tension as the clock wound down. Full-arena takeovers — combining synchronized graphics, sound effects and lighting — turned pivotal moments into unforgettable full-arena experiences, whether it was Jupiter Links Golf Club’s Tiger Woods throwing the Hammer or Boston Common Golf Club’s Rory McIlroy sinking a long putt to win a hole.
“It’s all about creating the right vibe and ambiance in the building,” Macaulay added. “We wanted the live experience to create an atmosphere that could be felt on TV, making those watching at home wish they were there in person to see how cool it is to attend a TGL match.”
Away from the field of play, there are approximately 100 screens in suites, concourses, locker rooms and the venue lobby. Digital signage for wayfinding helped attendees navigate the arena with ease, while digital menu boards over food and beverage concessions delivered real-time pricing and availability for a smoother matchday experience. Sponsors had the opportunity to leverage the 900 linear feet of LED ribbon boards and displays behind the player benches to engage with live attendees and TV viewers, providing new revenue opportunities for the teams and venue.

“Samsung’s partnership with TGL is reimagining the future of golf and sports stadiums everywhere,” added Phelps. “Together, we’re creating a dynamic, immersive fan experience that blends the best of golf, technology and entertainment. The success of the inaugural season is just the beginning.”
