Brand Neue Corp. has announced the addition of the InteLEDgent(TM) Lighting Solutions division (“InteLEDgent”) to its offering of Brand Neue Innovations. The InteLEDgent division was formed in response to demand for a variety of task and applications specific, specialized technical LED lighting products and solutions, as well as utility grade LED products for commercial, industrial, agricultural and military use domestically and abroad.

The Chinese decorative lighting manufacturer Neo-Neon LED Lighting International Ltd. will open 2,000 LED lighting fixtures shops in three to five years throughout mainland China, which is estimated an investment of 500 million Chinese yuan (US$73 million). B.Y. Fan, the company’s chairman, noted that the company opened its first retail shop in Hong Kong early this year and will open a store in Taipei next year.

Located at the base of the Teton Mountains, the Jackson Hole Airport needed a superior lighting solution, which now has installed Albeo Technologies’s LED Lighting. Albeo's C-Series LED high bay used in Jackson Hole's Silver LEED rated airport. Albeo’s 177 Watt high-bay fixture with approximately 14,000 lumen output per fixture and a 4200K color temperature was used for the project. Cyberlux Corporation announced that the Company has produced and shipped the first order from Sierra Nevada Corporation for the Cyberlux LED Hardened Shelter Lighting solution. CBC/Radio-Canada, located in Toronto, plans to accelerate the replacement of incandescent TV production lighting with more efficient and flexible LED lighting in studios across the country. CBC/Radio-Canada TV studio will become one of the first fully LED-lit TV news studios in the world after Senior Lighting Director Brad Dickson pushed to try the technology in designs for a new Radio-Canada news studio in Toronto.  

To ensure the successful introduction of LED lighting and strengthen the promotion of high efficiency, high quality LED lighting products, the US Department of Energy, who does not hope to repeat the failure of CFL early-stage promotion has driven related standardization organizations to define the Energy Star standard for LED lighting products.

LED Price Trend in 1Q10 According to LEDinside's price trend report, LED supply and demand are fairly stable in the first quarter of 2010. There is a seasonal proce erosion of 2-5% across backlight applications. For LED lighting application, the QoQ price erosion of high power LED appeared to be more servere, over 10%, due to invantory adjustment.

Japan's Fujifilm Corp. plans to enter the market for LED lighting materials with a new kind of light diffusing film which is thinner and offers higher illumination intensity than products now available. The light diffusing film acts to spread out the light from the LED bulbs so they are not so bright. These diffusers are now typically made from acrylic resin materials which are milky in color and around 2mm thick. The thickness means they are hard to bend, and the milky color means that some of the light is wasted.

Cree Module Makes LED Lighting Design Faster and Easier

Governments around the world began to commit in promoting energy-saving policies, and the cost of LED lighting began to fall; these factors help to stimulate the growth of the energy-saving market.
