Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs to Put Forward LED Bulbs Subsidy

Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs has put forward the LED bulbs subsidy scheme for household, and has sent to the government for approval. According to Minister of Economic Minister of Economic Affairs Shih Yen-shiang, the first subsidy will cover low-income house. It’s estimated that 200,000 households will benefit from the plan.

According to Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, these LED bulbs will be sent to the eligible families before the Spring Festival. Every family will get two LED bulbs, nearly saving 200 kw/h electricity and more than NT$ 500 per year.

Although low-income families in Taiwan use electricity is below 330 kw/h monthly and free from the electricity price adjustment, officials points out that a 9W LED bulb can save electricity as high as 85%, therefore it will make a contribution for these families more or less.
