Acuity Brands' LED Luminaires Supports Chicopee Renovation Project

Recently, Acuity Brands has joined the City of Chicopee, Massachusetts renovation project with its Holophane(R) GranVille(R) LED luminaires.

The city targeted to replace its old 100W high pressure sodium fixtures were spread throughout the downtown district, which comprises four city blocks containing city hall, office buildings, restaurants and nightclubs.

CEL's Engineering & Operations Manager, Jim Lisowski, brought Acuity Brands' Holophane team into the project  to evaluate an energy-efficient relighting solution.

The project required that the existing pole locations and poles be preserved. Holophane GranVille LED 58W and 116W luminaires were selected for a pilot program to evaluate performance and determine the effects of modernizing the lighting environment.

Ultimately, the GranVille LED 58W luminaires were recommended. The City and CEL have now completed the relighting of the downtown business district.
