Signify to Withdraw from Light + Building 2020

Signify announced that it will not participate in Light + Building 2020 due to “health risks posed by the coronavirus.”

Light + Building, the world’s biggest biannual fair of the lighting and building industry, will be taking place as planned during March 8 to 13, announced by its organizer Messe Frankfurt last week. Even though the organizer addressed the minor opportunity of getting infected with the coronavirus, Signify, the world’s biggest lighting company, decided not to participate in Light + Building this year.

Eric Rondolat, CEO of Signify, highlighted that the company mush contribute to helping to contain the issue. He mentioned “The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, customers and partners is and remains our number one priority.”

Signify is the first company pulling off from Light + Building 2020. The company said that it will introduce its innovations through a series of press releases in the coming weeks.

Messe Frankfurt indicated in its press release last week that due to travel restrictions imposed by many countries, the companies participate in the event cannot be confirmed yet. With Signify announcing its withdrawal of Light + Building 2020, it is not sure how other companies will react.
