Lighting Company Adopts Seoul Semiconductor’s SunLike LED for Human Centric Lighting in Offices and Educational Buildings

The effects of lighting on human well-being are getting more attention with more and more lighting brands choosing LED products that deliver light with wavelengths similar to natural light. UK-based WILA Lighting, for example, has adopted Seoul Semiconductor’s SunLike Series natural spectrum LEDs for its new product range, Visic.

The new product is a recessed ceiling luminaire featuring human-centric lighting design that matches the spectrum of natural sunlight. The technology lowers the blue light peak to be similar to sunlight’s spectral curve in order to reduce scattered reflection and glare common in conventional LEDs. This result is achieved with SunLike Series LEDs with lighting technology that promotes well-being by creating a more healthy and productive working environment in offices and educational buildings.

Light sources with SunLike Series LEDs more accurately show the color of objects as they would appear in natural sunlight with optimized natural light spectra and color rendering of CRI-97 (close to CRI-100 of sunlight).

“As the paradigm of lighting shifts to human-centric lighting, there is an increasing demand for healthy light sources for people who spend a lot of time indoors,” said Carlo Romiti, Europe sales Vice President of Seoul Semiconductor.
