Martin Kimbell Creates Twisting Light Tornados

A UK photographer Martin Kimbell has created breath taking images of swirling light tornados.

UK photographer Martin Kimbell creates stunning images by using LED light hoops. (All photos courtesy belong to Martin Kimbell via his official website.)

Instead of using LED lights and drones in the process of making these twirling light structures, the artist decided to turn to LED hoops and long exposure photography techniques in the process, according to a Colossal report. Another report by Gizmodo noted the artist basically tosses the LED hoop into the air and takes photos ranging from two frames per shot to an entire roll of film. The final results are not known till the photo is developed.

Another interesting composition by Kimbell makes it appear as if this tree is emitting gold light.

Both reports noted Kimbell was inspired by American lighting photographer Stu Jenks.

The artist's black and white photography highlights the light's geometrical structures.
