Shanghai Train Station Gets a Touch of Nature with Sunlight and Rainbow Butterflies

Rings of LED lights circle the cylinder pillars of Shanhai Metro’s Hanzhong Road Station and brings to it a natural touch. The columns are now wrapped up in light beams that resemble sunlight. Schools of lit-up 3D printed butterflies took over the walls of the hall way. Jiayu Liu, an artist who is known for its digitalized art installations presented his latest lighting project, Magic Forest, reported the Creators Project.

The designers wanted to bring sunlight to an underground space and came out the idea of using natural figures.

The lighting installation uses light-equipment 3D printed butterflies to illustrate the beauty and vividness of forest showered by light.

The beams of sunlight are also created by covering the columns with LED ring.
