Plessey to Exhibit GaN-on-Silicon Technology at LuxLive 2015

Plessey announced today that it will be exhibiting at LuxLive, Europe's biggest annual lighting event from 18th to 19th of November at London's ExCeL arena. This will be the second year exhibiting for the UK-based LED manufacturer, where it will demonstrate a number of lighting solutions designed around its award winning GaN-on-Silicon technology for the solid state lighting market.

This year, LuxLive will be co-located with Strategies in Light and the combined event will feature the best from the entire industry supply chain, ranging from chip manufacturing, through to design and end user applications. The event programme will cover key sectors which are moving towards solid state lighting solutions, including retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, commercial, street- and industrial lighting.

Giuliano Cassataro, Plessey's LED Sales Director, said, "LED lighting is headed towards the integration of intelligence and optics, and this is where Plessey, with our recent capacity expansions and patented Chip Scale Optics technology can make a difference. By having the primary optics on-chip eliminates the cost of primary optics typically found in packaged LEDs and chip-on-board modules and significantly lowers the cost. It also provides for far greater design freedom for secondary optics within a luminaire.'

Plessey will hold product demonstrations presented by technical and design experts at stand E26, providing an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of its latest products and solutions for the commercial, industrial, consumer and wearable lighting segments. LuxLive will open on Wednesday 18th November from 9am to 9pm and on Thursday 19th November from 9am to 5pm. The show is free to attend with tickets available through the event homepage: www.luxlive.co.uk
