Lighting Science Introduces Air Sanitizing LED Luminaire

Lighting Science has launched Cleanse™, a new LED luminaire that can reduce pathogens in the air. The product is a retrofit LED troffer which sanitizes air with an air circulation and sanitation system.

The sanitation system of the luminaire comes with activated carbon and HEPA filters that capture particulates. In addition, its UV LEDs (A+C) further clean and deodorize the air. According to Lighting Science, this process can achieves a >99.9% elimination rate among the most common airborne pathogens resulting in reduced contamination and a lower risk of infection.

The luminaire provides 3200 lumens of high quality light, but it only uses 60 watts of energy to operate illumination and air cleaning mode. Moreover, it is available in a wide range of color spectrums to match existing environments.
