CES 2009: Hisense showcases the world’s thinnest 42 inch LED TV

Hisense, as China's leading home appliance brand, was awarded the "Global TV Brand Top7" due to its 42 inch LED LCD TV at CES 2009. Hisense has now become the most famous Chinese color TV brands by winning this honor. Hisense was also awarded "Top 10 CE Brand From China" for the third consecutive year. At the same time, Hisense also successfully defended "Global CE Brands Top 50" award.

CES 2009: LG to unveil the world’s slimmest LED LCD TV

It’s reported that LG will unveil the world’s slimmest LED LCD TV - “LH95” at CES in January in Las Vegas. The LG LH95 is expected to be only 24.8mm thick, which should be good enough to back the manufacturer’s claim. The LH95 will feature a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio screen and come with 240Hz TrueMotion Drive technology. It’s disclosed that this LED LCD TV will be the 2009 CES Innovation Award winner in the Display category.

TV performance is improved by LED backlights technology

Recently, Philips and Sony both unveiled new LCD televisions that use LED backlights at IFA, a major consumer electronic show held in Berlin, Germany on August 29 - September 3. Both companies had new TVs that used the LED backlights to achieve local dimming, while Sony also had a 40-inch LCD TV with LED edge-lighting – almost certainly a first.

The key of Bravia TVs’ Picture Quality is RGB LED Backlight Technology

Recently, Sony Corp announced a new product line of Bravia LCD TVs including the XR1 series, which has an RGB LED backlight unit. The company said that the XR1 series offers "the highest picture quality in the history of Bravia," and also has an extremely wide color gamut of 122% NTSC.
