ANSI Publishes ANSI C82.16-2015 American National Standard for LED Drivers Methods or Measurement

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) announced that ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C82 published ANSI C82.16-2015 American National Standard for Light-Emitting Diode Drivers—Methods of Measurement. This standard describes the procedures to be followed and the precautions to be taken in measuring performance of LED drivers. ANSI Publishes ANSI C78.374-2015 LED Package Specification Sheet for General Illumination Applications

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) announced that ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C78 published ANSI C78.374-2015 Light-Emitting Diode Package Specification Sheet for General Illumination Applications. The purpose of this new standard is to specify the standardized white light-emitting diode (LED) package specification sheet, or data reporting format, as the means of communication between LED package producers and users in general illumination applications. The minimum defined contents and format of the specification sheet are provided.

ANSI Accredited Standards Committee Revises Luminaire and Control Device Related Electrical Transient Immunity Requirements ANSI C136.2-2015

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) announced that ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C136 revised ANSI C136.2-2015 Dielectric Withstand and Electrical Transient Immunity Requirements. This standard covers luminaires and control devices classified for up to 600-volt operation. It is also intended for use in roadway and area lighting applications.

NEMA Publishes New Standards for Roadway and Area Lighting Equipment

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has recently published two new standards for Roadways and Area Lighting Equipment. The first is ANSI C136.16-2014 American National Standard for Roadway and Area Lighting Equipment—Enclosed, Post Top-mounted Luminaires. This standard is useful to roadway and area lighting manufacturers, municipalities, and utilities; and provides requirements to allow for the interchangeability of enclosed, post top-mounted luminaires.
