Indian consumer electronics manufacturer BPL plans to expand its LED product portfolio, after starting in the industry with solar LED lanterns a year ago, according to a report by The Economic Times.
"BPL intends to add more products through introduction of more efficient and superior LED light sources," BPL Techno Vision CEO K Vijaya Kumar told.
Kumar estimated the Indian LED market value had soared 46% to total 18.25 billion Indian Rupees (US $290 million) in 2013.
The company which has sold 89,348 units of solar LEDs and solar lanterns is aiming to sell a total of 2,75,000 units in this fiscal year.
