Samsung Electronics recently launched its new ultra-premium Micro LED TV, which costs between R1.4 million and R3 million, and you can only buy it in Kramerville, Sandton.

According to the company, the ultra-premium TV, which comes in 76”, 89”, 110”, 114” and 126” screen sizes, offers advanced picture and sound quality, more screen size options, customisable accessories, and an upgraded interface.

With 25 million micrometre-sized LEDs, the razor-slim TV also provides a state-of-the-art display, individually producing vibrant, life-like colours, and heightened levels of clarity and contrast, says the company.

"Samsung understands that TV entertainment is more exciting when it's involving and more cinematic and the Micro LED TV heeds that call in exceptional fashion," said Samsun's vice-president of consumer electronics, Mike van Lier. "With its innovative take on what's possible, it stretches viewing possibilities to grander levels."

Due to Samsung's partnership with Cinema Architects, a lifestyle and high-tech experience centre in Kramerville, Sandton, the ultra-premium TV can only be bought there and nowhere else in the country.

"If you look at Cinema Architects, they actually bring the right target audience for this product and that is why right now we're going with [them]. They provide products and service for your high-end consumer," Van Lier said. "It's still new and we've just launched. We want to see how the uptake is going to go," before launching elsewhere, he added.

The Micro LED offers additional enhanced usability and customisation features, including the following:

  • Art Mode: Allows consumers to turn any room into an art gallery as they can select and display their favourite artwork or digital photography.
  • Multi View: Lets users view content from four different sources simultaneously – from any or all of the four HDMI ports – in pristine 4K resolution at up to 120fps.
  • Dolby Atmos: Delivers a premier audio experience with top, side and bottom channel speakers for breathtaking, multi-dimensional sound.

"The Micro LED supports 20-bit greyscale depth. This means Micro LED models can express every detail in a scene, offering the finest control with over one million steps of brightness and colour levels, delivering a true HDR experience," the company said.
