Everlight Revenue Expects to Grow 20%-30% in 2009

Recently, Taiwan LED maker Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd. claimed that it won orders for backlight unit (BLU)-use LEDs from a big international notebook PC brand. The company expects its revenue climb by 20% to 30% this year.

Everlight confirmed that its LEDs for monitor and LCD TV BLUs are undergoing certification, so its shipments of LEDs for large-sized LED panels would enjoy clear growth.

In addition, the company also conducted a corporate resfhuffle and assigned Bernd Kammerer, who original handled sales in the U.S. and Europe, as the president of the sales group. Everlight has proposed to raise its annual revenue by 20% to 30% to NT$14 billion this year, though some institutional investors doubted its feasibility.

In addition to BLU-use LEDs, Everlight said that its major revenue growth would be driven by high-power LEDs for office, auxiliary, streetlamp etc.
