Iowa, LED street light project in Cedar Falls

More efficient lighting could soon be coming to the streets of Cedar Falls. With City Council blessing last week, the city is moving toward changing out high-pressure sodium fixtures for LED fixtures. LED lights also will be installed in new property developments going forward.

A trial installation a few months ago evaluated five manufacturers: GE, American Electric, Cooper, Cree and Phillips, and 22 LED lights were installed in the Pleasant Drive and Cedar Heights residential areas.
