AquiSense’s UV-C LED Product Certified to NSF/ANSI 55-2019 Standard

AquiSense Technologies who specialized in UV-C LED water disinfection announced that its PearlAqua Micro rang was certified by NSF International in compliance with the new NSF/ANSI 55 Standard for Material Safety and Structural Integrity.

The PearlAqua Micro, according to AquiSense, is the world’s smallest UV-C LED water treatment system that enables 99.9999% pathogen reduction. The PearlAqua Micro range is designed to be integrated at the point of use and offers 12 or 24 VDC input voltage, automatic on/off control, multiple sensing/alarm options, and customizable housing options.

The NSF/ANSI 55-2019 Standard has recently been updated to address the unique technical differences of LED technology compared to traditional mercury gas-discharge lamp technology. Following very shortly will be microbiological performance certification by NSF. This will provide additional verification to the already completed 3rd party microbiological validation completed on the PearlAqua Micro range, showing supplemental bacterial treatment of drinking water supplies. This provides a strong final barrier and “last-mile” protection to many applications

Oliver Lawal, AquiSense CEO, said, “Prior to September 2019, there was no specific standard for LED technology in water treatment applications. Our team has worked for years supporting NSF International to ensure the new 55 Standard is robust and future-proof. We look forward to engaging OEM manufacturers globally in incorporating the PearlAqua component for maximum human and environmental protection.”
