Trinseo to Showcase Plastics for Lighting at Strategies in Light North America

Trinseo, the global materials company and manufacturer of plastics, latex and rubber, formerly known as Styron, will showcase its plastics for the LED Lighting industry at Strategies in Light at Booth 720 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV  from  February 24 – 26, 2015. The company changed its name on February 1st to reflect how Trinseo’s technologies and materials play an intrinsic role in the innovative and sustainable solutions that customers require for their next generation products.

Trinseo continues to be committed to the Lighting industry, which it has been supporting for nearly a decade with polycarbonate-based compounds under the EMERGE™ Advanced Resins and CALIBRE™ Polycarbonate Resins brands. This includes transparent, light diffusion, ignition resistant and reflective grades used in lenses, optics, diffusers, reflectors and housings.

Trinseo is also formally introducing its EMERGE™ PC 8830LT Advanced Resins, an innovative material that balances transparency, flame retardancy and thickness – three key properties that are needed as the market continues to move toward thinner gauge applications.  The material is UL94 rated V-0 at 1.0mm and 5VA at 2.5mm and is the next generation advancement in Trinseo’s EMERGE™ PC 8000 series.

Trinseo’s global footprint is an advantage in the LED Lighting market. The company has technical and manufacturing resources that enable Trinseo to coordinate application development, product availability and technical support worldwide. This is especially critical in this particular market since applications are often specified in one region and manufactured in another.

The Trinseo team from North America will be joined at Strategies in Light by colleagues from Asia Pacific. Since the company spun off from The Dow Chemical Company in 2010 it has been intensely focused on differentiating itself with superior product quality. The company leverages its global resin sources to provide lighting customers worldwide with outstanding consistency and assurance of supply.
