Edmonton Installs LED Streetlights would Cut Costs and CO2 Emissions

Edmonton, Canada - Edmonton could save $50 million over two decades by speeding up the conversion of street lights to LED fixtures from conventional equipment, a new report says. Taiwan's LED streetlight project estimated to cut down 50% of electrical consumption

Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) is scheduling to use LEDs to take the place of 800,000 working mercury streetlights. It will be worth of NT$22 billion (US$687 million), and be completed in 2011.
