Unity Opto Anticipates LED Industry to Thrive in 2014

Unity Opto Chairman Wu Ching-huei during the company’s year-end celebration on the 13th stated that LED lighting will be a thriving industry in 2014, according to the Economic Daily News. The company’s lighting revenue will double this year with January having the opportunity to increase 30 percent month on month (MoM) in revenue. The LED lighting industry is anticipated to boom this year with many manufacturers profiting, especially high-end chips where demand exceeds supply, said Wu.

LED Backlight: Large Japanese manufacturers and Chinese TV manufactures have already placed orders for LED backlighting. Large Chinese manufacturers have begun preparing in advance before Chinese Lunar New Year.


Mid to Small Size Backlight Panels: The high efficiency, good color rendering, and slenderness of backlight panels will applied to panel computers and smartphones in 2014.


LED Lighting: Shipments to North American regions remains prosperous. LED lighting proportions have grown substantially to 40 percent compared to last year.
