Osram has agreed to sell its production site which mostly produces CFLs at the factory in Shaoxing, China, as part of its plan to save €1 billion (£864.5 billion) by 2015. The factory employs 2,000 workers. And the Hong Kong-based company Super Trend Lighting Group has bought the plant and will continue running it. Siemens has announced its intention to spin-off 80.5% of its subsidiary Osram. The plan requires approval of at least three-quarters of voters at Siemens’ Annual Shareholders' Meeting on 23 January. Siemens will cut $7.67 billion in costs by 2014 and will sell several assets,  in an effort to improve financial returns to shareholders, according to the Wall Street Journal.
