Taiwanese Manufacturers Focus on LED Technology at Light+Building 2014

Taiwan LED manufacturers were very active at this year’s Light+Building 2014 show that took place in Frankfurt, Germany last week. The main theme of Taiwanese manufacturers at the show was LED technology. Some major technology highlights included flip chip LED, Alternating Current (AC) Driver-on-Board (DoB) Chip-on-Board (COB) modules.

Unlike previous shows, where Taiwanese LED manufacturers were gathered in Hall 10, many manufacturers reserved larger booth spaces in Hall 4 and Hall 6 through their oversea offices to build up brand image. Taiwanese LED manufacturers including Epistar, Everlight, Lite-On, Edison Opto, Lextar and TSMC Solid State Lighting (SSL) and more. While lighting manufacturers that attended the show were Beautiful Light Technology Co. (BLTC), Laster Tech, Adata Lighting and others.

To understand major LED technology development trends, one just needs to visit Epistar’s booth at the Frankfurt lighting show. Main LED technologies exhibited at the booth included flip chip LED, HV LED, HV LED COB modules and other related applications. The company also displayed a flip chip COB module developed with client Unistars. Another product developed with client Everlight showcased at the booth was a white chip COB module.
