February LED Revenues Rise as LED Industry Recovers

March is a big month for LED lighting exhibitions. Taiwan International Lighting Show and Light + Building will open later this month and have already garnered much attention from the market, according to Economic Daily News. The LED industry has rebounded this year, with February revenue growth substantially higher compared to last year.

Taiwan LED production capacity is second in the world, making up 22.2 percent of global market share, according to statistics by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). This makes Taiwanese manufacturers highly competitive. The LED industry has had a turn around this year, driven by soaring LED lighting demands. Equipment, module, and material demands by supply chains have also increased. By strengthening industry communication through the exhibitions, an integration in resources can create a considerable number of opportunities within the industry.

The LED industry has benefited greatly from strong demands in the market, and is viewed favorably this year, said Xie Chenyan, Director and Strategist at MSFG. LED manufacturers, additionally, are seeing a rebound in revenue. Upstream chip manufacturer Epileds, whose products are mainly applied in outdoor and commercial lighting, has seen its utilization rate increase to 90 percent and higher and order visibility reach 1 to 2 months.
